Hi! I am Theresa McSwain. Many of my clients come to me feeling scared because they have had a diagnosis with an autoimmune disease or another chronic condition. They come to me never knowing the reasons why they got sick or why they are tired, exhausted and don’t feel their best.

They just know that something needs to change.

I was at this same point in my life several years ago. My health journey was not cut and dry. It was confusing and it took me years to feel better. This gave me the desire to give people the tools I wish that I had at the start of my health journey. This is why I became a heath coach.



This is my journey. Here we go!
I was a very healthy child and I did not have any allergies or sensitivities.  I actually had a great immune system and rarely even got a cold. My mom cooked most of our meals from scratch, including homemade sourdough bread, and homemade whole wheat noodles. Yum!
My allergy symptoms became noticeable in my early 20’s. I started having lots of congestion and I was so tired.  Looking back I believe these symptoms were related to my diet changing - college food is not the same as my mom’s made from scratch food.  I thought I was healthy because I drank a lot of water, not soda, and rarely ate at fast food restaurants. But my vegetables consisted of fries and ketchup and I at gluten and dairy with every meal.


I started a career as a behavior analyst working with children with autism in their homes and schools. My focus was on teaching communication and social skills and providing behavioral support. I learned so much about food and toxins from the parents I worked with. Many of the parents reduced sugar, dyes, food additives, chemicals, and plastics from their children’s lives. For some, when they did this I saw improvements in communication, focus and behaviors in the classroom. But I thought food sensitivities and chemical sensitivities were only affecting children with autism. 

I did not put together how much our toxic world was affecting my health too.

As I went through my 20’s, my allergy symptoms just kept getting worse and worse. I was taking every kind of allergy medication, I was exhausted all of the time, I had severe headaches for days, I was continuously breaking out in hives, and the list of symptoms goes on…  I even was prescribed an Epi pen. I was going to different doctors but no one seemed to really get to the root of the problem. I needed something to change.
I thought back to the children that I have worked with, and how reducing toxins had made many of them just feel better.
With background in behavior modification, I started really looking at cause and effect of the foods I was eating. I started writing down foods that I was eating and then how I felt after.  If ate something and felt bad, then I stopped eating that food for a specific amount of time. (You can have symptoms up to 5 days after eating something.)  I started to feel better and better. I had not realized how much what I was eating was affecting my everyday life. I decided I wanted to teach what I was learning to others.  I attended the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and I am now a Holistic Health Coach.  

I have learned a lot about how food affects how you feel, how you sleep,
how your brain and immune system operate and
how you function in school, the workplace and in this world.


I have worked with countless families and learned so much about reducing toxins in your body and home. I have also learned a great deal from my own journey and health struggles. I now want to share what I have learned with you. You do not need to suffer anymore. We can find a solution that works for you and your family. You do not have to do have to do this alone.
I went through years of struggling to figure out how to feel better because I did it on my own.

This journey has taught me a lot. I have figured out what foods nourish my body and make me feel good. I have so much energy, no more brain fog or headaches, and I am no longer an itchy lady.  I am so thankful to just feel better now and to have found a better, healthier way of living.
                                                                                    


Today, I teach people how to live a toxic free life. A life that is simpler and  less stressful. A life filled with more joy where you don’t have to give up the foods they love. Yes, you deserve to live a life that is grand.
